Souvi ("we", "us", "the app") helps you save recipes and cook hands-free with an AI cooking assistant. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and who we share it with.

What we collect
- Account data — your email address and display name, from registration or Sign in with Apple.
- Content you create — recipes you save or import, ingredients, notes and ratings, "cooked it" photos, shopping lists, meal plans, and pantry items.
- Voice and audio — when you use the hands-free assistant, short clips of your spoken questions are sent to our servers to be transcribed and answered. We do not record continuously or listen in the background; audio is captured only while you're actively using voice cook mode.
- Usage data — basic events (e.g. recipes imported, cook sessions started) used to enforce free-plan limits and improve the product.
- Subscription status — whether you have an active Souvi Plus subscription, from our payments provider. We never see your card details.
- Device tokens — a push-notification token, if you enable notifications.
We do not sell your personal data.
How we use it
- To provide the core features (store recipes, run the AI assistant, narrate steps, generate suggestions).
- To enforce free-tier limits and manage subscriptions.
- To send optional notifications (e.g. a reminder if you haven't cooked in a while), which you can disable.
- To monitor reliability and fix crashes and errors.

Recipe/import content you provide may also be fetched from third-party URLs you choose to import from.
Data retention
- Your content is kept while your account exists.
- Operational logs (usage/AI/voice telemetry) are automatically deleted after 90 days.
- When you delete your account, your account and associated data are permanently removed.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data.
- Export: available in-app / on request, in a portable JSON format.
- Deletion: permanently delete your account and all data anytime from Profile → Delete account, or by contacting us.
Children
Souvi is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.
